Questions you might be holding.
A closer look at how sessions work, fees, and what the first few weeks tend to feel like.
What to Expect
What happens in the first session?+
The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. You'll share what's been going on — as much or as little as feels right — and I'll ask questions to understand the bigger picture: your history, relationships, work, and what you're hoping therapy might help with. There's no pressure to have it all figured out.
How often will we meet?+
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which helps build momentum and a sense of continuity. As things settle, some shift to fortnightly or monthly check-ins. We'll decide together based on what feels supportive — not on a fixed protocol.
How long does therapy usually take?+
There's no single answer. Some clients come for focused, short-term work over 6–10 sessions around a specific concern. Others stay longer for deeper, ongoing exploration. We'll check in regularly to make sure the work still feels useful, and there's never an obligation to continue.
Will you give me advice or homework?+
Therapy isn't about being told what to do. I'll sometimes offer reflections, frameworks, or small practices to try between sessions if they feel relevant — but the work is collaborative. You stay in charge of your life and your choices.
Is what I share confidential?+
Yes. Everything we discuss is private and held in strict confidence. The only exceptions are where there's a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or where disclosure is legally required — and in those rare cases, I'd talk it through with you first wherever possible.
What if I'm not sure therapy is right for me?+
That uncertainty is completely normal — and a good thing to bring to the first session. We can talk about what you're hoping for, what's holding you back, and whether this is the right time, the right fit, or whether something else might serve you better.
What's your cancellation or rescheduling policy?+
Life happens — if you need to reschedule or cancel, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance and we'll find another time that works. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed sessions without notice, are charged in full. You can reach me by email or WhatsApp, and I'll respond as soon as I can.
Still have a question? Reach out and I'll get back to you within one business day.
